GateSource HR is seeking a skilled and experienced Underground Electrician to join the team. This role is crucial in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems in underground mining environments. - Ensure the safe completion of both routine and non-routine repairs and construction activities.
- Conduct preventative maintenance, installation, and repair of industrial electrical and instrumentation equipment, including substations, power distribution systems, switchgear, motors, motor controls, systems and components, instrumentation, and pneumatic devices.
- Follow verbal or written instructions from supervisors, including wiring diagrams and schematics, and select the necessary materials and tools for the task.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustments or repairs, ensuring compliance with current regulations.
- Maintain and update all required logbooks, and provide oral and written reports related to job duties.
- Diagnose equipment issues using a digital multimeter and by referring to wiring diagrams and schematics.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Electrical license NEEDED
- 5+ years of experience working with high voltage
systems - Must be familiar with PLCs, VFDs, Soft-Start and basic
operational control system circuitry - Previous underground experience preferred
