Job Description

Currently a driving force and leader in the Construction-Engineering industry, this firm is looking to hire a full-time Senior Structural Engineer. This is a national company operating across several states with a well-earned reputation as one of the top construction inspection firms over the past forty years.

Requirements

The minimum requirements for this position include:
  • P.E. license in Texas or Florida
  • a minimum of 5+ years residential design experience

The general responsibilities of the Senior Structural Engineer involve the design and structural analysis for single-family, multi-family, retail and light commercial structures. These responsibilities include:
  • Experience using industry standard building design software (RAM Structural Systems, Concept, RAM Elements, etc.)
  • Understanding of building structure design (steel, concrete, wood, precast, etc.)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of local building codes and requirements
  • Proven experience creating structural drawings/details in AutoCAD, Revit, similar drafting programs
  • Knowledge of American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) steel manual, American Concrete Institute (ACI) code 318, American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) 7, and International Building Codes (IBC)
  • Broad expertise in other disciplines, such as mechanical, electrical and geotechnical surveying
