GateSource HR Caribbean Division is partnering with a key client in the Caribbean to recruit an experienced Production Engineer.
The role will entail:
- Developing and managing a Capital Program aimed at expanding and upgrading production systems and facilities, addressing load growth, enhancing system reliability and safety, improving operational flexibility, and reducing losses.
- Leading the implementation of improvements through comprehensive scopes of work, engineering design specifications, and detailed designs as the foundation for Construction Work Packages, aligned with the company’s Project Management process.
- Ensuring all assigned projects adhere to company safety protocols for both employees and contractors.
Project Oversight and Standards Compliance
- Approving, supervising, and inspecting new installations or modifications across civil, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and control systems to meet company and industry standards.
- Preparing, updating, and enforcing standards for electrical, mechanical, control, and instrumentation systems within the generation system.
Technical Leadership and Support
- Providing technical expertise and leadership in the Production area and offering engineering support across all company departments.
- Conducting occasional internal training sessions for personnel on relevant engineering topics.
- Participating in maintenance, troubleshooting, and service activities for the power system’s maintenance program and offering engineering support to the Production Division as needed.
- Providing “On Call” support as required.
Collaboration and Coordination
- Coordinating with contractors, consultants, and other teams within Production and T&D Divisions.
- Mentoring and guiding other staff to assist in achieving project objectives.
- Performing duties in accordance with company policies, procedures, standards, and safety regulations, along with any other assigned tasks.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Plant Engineering projects, ideally within the power utility industry.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- A Professional Engineering credential in good standing, or equivalent, with a commitment to achieving recognized credentials if not already obtained.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for report writing, correspondence, and technical presentations.
- PMP certification or equivalent from the Project Management Institute (PMI) (preferred).
