GateSource HR Mining Division is partnering with a leading industry player in the mineral processing sector. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Draftsman to join a dedicated Engineering team.
As a Senior Draftsman, you will have the opportunity to work on challenging projects, support plant modifications, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the company processes.
You will be responsible for:
- Prepare accurate technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints based on project requirements and specifications.
- Collaborate with Engineers and Project Managers to understand project objectives and requirements.
- Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to create and modify detailed drawings.
- Create 2D and 3D models to visualize project designs and concepts.
- Ensure drawings adhere to industry standards and regulations, as well as company guidelines.
- Review and revise drawings based on feedback from stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain a well-organized database of drawings and project documentation.
- Coordinate with other team members to ensure seamless project progress and timely completion.
- Assist in preparing material lists and cost estimates for project components.
- Keep up-to-date with advancements in drafting techniques, software, and industry trends.
- Collaborate with onsite teams as needed for project inspections and verification.
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to address any drafting-related issues.
- Adhere to project deadlines and deliver high-quality work in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations throughout the drafting process.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Draftsman with a focus on industrial and mining projects.
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).
- Strong understanding of drafting principles, techniques, and standards.
- Familiarity with industrial and mining project components and terminology.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail and precision in creating technical drawings.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote setting while meeting deadlines.
- Knowledge of relevant industry codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- A degree or certification in Drafting, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in remote work or managing remote projects is a plus.
