GateSource HR Agribusiness Division is partnering with an industry leader with operations and subsidiaries in multiple countries.
To support its growth, we are looking for a Regional Manager to direct all activities for the management and communication in manufacturing for two of their plants in South America.
This position requires relocation to one of the countries in South America.
The Regional Manager will provide oversight of modern food processing operations across multiple countries, focusing on optimizing pork production practices. In addition to ensuring operational excellence, they will lead efforts to drive business expansion and profitability. This will involve developing and executing cross-functional strategies grounded in thorough analysis and innovative thinking. The role also includes the responsibility of implementing a holistic business growth strategy that encompasses long-term objectives, annual operational plans, budgets, and specific performance targets, aligned with key performance indicators to track success.
Primary Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning and Execution: The Regional Manager will work closely with General Managers and other senior executives to develop, execute, and meet short- and long-term business objectives aligned with the overall division’s goals.
- Operational Optimization: Key to this role will be improving pork production systems and driving operational efficiency through the development and implementation of best practice strategies. This will include continuous performance improvement and economic efficiency initiatives across affiliate operations.
- Leadership and Team Development: The Regional Manager will guide and mentor senior production and operational leadership teams, ensuring that all practices meet corporate standards. They will take ownership of meeting production and efficiency targets, while ensuring compliance with performance standards.
- Data Analytics & Continuous Improvement: The use of data analytics and improvement processes will be critical in identifying opportunities for operational enhancements. They will devise strategies based on data-driven insights to enhance performance and streamline operations.
- Business Development: Another critical task will be exploring business growth opportunities related to pork protein, focusing on both existing and emerging markets. This includes identifying new market trends, fostering partnerships, and executing business expansion strategies across the region.
- Budget Oversight: The Regional Manager will review and optimize cost/profit center budgets, ensuring sound financial management across operations.
- Cost Control and Margin Maximization: A focus on cost control initiatives and margin enhancement will be vital, seeking to standardize processes, track performance via KPIs, and ensure alignment with best-in-class practices.
- Financial Reporting: The role will also require the approval and review of financial reports, including income statements and cash flow projections, ensuring robust financial health.
- Stakeholder Communication: Active communication with stakeholders, including partners, boards of directors, and government officials, will be essential. This will involve providing clear updates on business developments and maintaining a strong, informed presence with the board of directors.
- Customer Relationships: Building and nurturing relationships with key customers through regular visits and proactive engagement will be a fundamental aspect of the role.
- Goal Setting and Personnel Review: The Regional Manager will help set and review personnel goals tied to performance review systems, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Corporate Social Responsibility: The role will also involve offering guidance and support for Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, ensuring the company’s ethical standards are upheld.
- Travel Requirements: Regular travel to affiliate locations, industrial operations, and meetings will be necessary to maintain an active presence in all key business areas.
- Flexibility in Role: Additional duties and tasks may be assigned as necessary, adapting to the evolving business environment.
Requirements
- The role requires a university degree in a relevant field, preferably related to food processing, agribusiness, or animal production.
- A minimum of 7 years of management experience in an industrial food manufacturing environment is required, with at least 5 years in the pork industry highly preferred.
- An in-depth understanding of agricultural commodity markets, especially within the pork production sector, will be necessary to drive success.
- Experience working in commercial, industrial, or logistical operations within developing countries is preferred, particularly in food distribution and processing environments.
- Experience in combating theft and fraud within a developing country context will be valuable.
- Fluency in both Spanish and English is essential for success in this role
