We are
seeking a seasoned High Voltage Electrical Engineer for an EPC/turnkey project
involving the extension of a substation from 161kV to 4.16kV. The ideal
candidate will have a robust background in power system design, construction,
and commissioning, specifically with high voltage systems (minimum 170kV). This
role demands a proactive individual who can manage client relationships in a
multicultural environment, oversee vendor selection, and ensure timely
procurement and installation of necessary equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Oversee the entire project lifecycle from design
phase through detailed engineering, procurement, and commissioning. - Client Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for the client
representative, ensuring clear communication and satisfaction throughout
the project. - Vendor Management: Lead the vendor selection process, negotiating
terms and ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness. - Materials Procurement: Manage the procurement of materials, ensuring
lead times and delivery schedules align with project timelines. - Engineering and Design: Supervise the design phase, ensuring all
engineering activities comply with industry standards and project
specifications. - Installation Oversight: Oversee the installation of transformers and
other high voltage equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and quality
standards. - Team Leadership: Lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers and
technicians, providing guidance and expertise throughout the project. - Compliance and Safety: Ensure all project activities adhere to
relevant safety regulations and industry standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Advanced degrees and professional certifications are a plus. - Minimum of 10 years of experience in high voltage power systems
design, construction, and commissioning, with a focus on systems of at
least 170kV. - Deep understanding of high voltage electrical engineering principles,
transformer installation, and substation design. - Experience in the mining sector
- Proficiency in power system design software and tools.
- Strong project management skills, with experience in EPC/turnkey
projects. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to
manage client relationships effectively. - Fluency in English, both written and spoken. Spanish nice to have
