GateSource HR is seeking an experienced Gold Project Manager with experience in Tailings Recovery to lead the development, commissioning, and operational ramp-up of a large-scale gold tailings reprocessing facility.
This position is focused exclusively on tailings retreatment and recovery. The successful candidate will bring deep, hands-on expertise in modern gold recovery circuits and the management of complex slurry and tailings systems, including remediation of legacy contaminants.
This is a high-impact leadership role requiring strong technical execution, accelerated delivery capability, and proven success in operating and scaling gold tailings processing plants.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the end-to-end execution of an industrial gold tailings recovery project from commissioning through steady-state production.

Oversee daily plant operations involving gravity recovery, Cerrian leaching (CIL/CIP), and associated gold recovery systems.

Manage large-scale water balance, slurry transport, tailings handling, and deposition systems.

Direct plant ramp-up activities under accelerated timelines, ensuring performance targets are met safely and efficiently.

Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including operations, metallurgy, maintenance, HSE, and engineering.

Implement and monitor remediation strategies for mercury and heavy-metal contamination within tailings and process streams.

Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and best practices for tailings retreatment facilities.

Drive continuous improvement in recovery rates, throughput, and operational reliability.

Serve as the senior site leader interfacing with stakeholders, contractors, and technical consultants.

Strong metallurgical and process optimization background in tailings retreatment.

Experience in brownfield or legacy tailings remediation projects.
