The Project Control Manager is responsible for leading the project controls function for mining capital projects and sustaining operations. This role ensures robust planning, cost management, scheduling, progress measurement, forecasting, risk control, and reporting across the full project lifecycle (study, design, construction, commissioning, and close-out). The manager partners closely with Project Managers, Engineering, Construction, Procurement, Finance, and Site Operations to drive predictable delivery, cost discipline, and transparency in performance.
- Lead development, validation,
and maintenance of integrated project schedules (EPCM, owner team,
contractors). - Define schedule logic,
critical path, float management, and key milestones aligned to mining
execution strategies. - Build and manage project
control budgets, WBS/CBS structures, and cost coding aligned to contracts
and ERP systems. - Implement and oversee earned
value management (EVM) parameters and dashboards. - Consolidate monthly
performance reviews for schedule, cost, scope, and risk. - Lead the change control
process: identification, evaluation, approval routing, and baseline
updates.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in
Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, Quantity Surveying, or
related field. - 8+ years
of project controls experience, with at least 3–5 years in mining or heavy industrial
projects. - Proven experience in
large-scale mining projects - Strong command of:
- Scheduling
- Cost control, cash flow,
forecasting - Earned value management
- Change and risk management
- High proficiency in Excel and
reporting/BI tools (Power BI/Tableau preferred).
