GateSource HR's partner is looking for a Mobile Mechanic to join their Michigan team. If you have a strong mechanical background in mining or heavy machinery areas and a commitment to safety, this role is perfect for you!
Our client is seeking candidates that are skilled in inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on all underground mining equipment. Applicants should be able to conduct systematic checks, lubrication, and part replacements while also being able to operate equipment such as: overhead cranes, forklifts, and boom trucks.
Other Responsibilities include:
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and develop effective repair solutions to prevent equipment breakdowns.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance tasks to extend the life span of equipment.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
- Ability to use welding equipment.
Requirements
Requirements for this role are as follows:
- 5+ years’ experience as a heavy equipment mechanic required.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Expert knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems of heavy equipment NEEDED
- Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and SAP preferred.
- Maintain high safety standards
- Must be willing and able to work independently
