Are you an experienced Mining professional with management experience in an underground mining environment? GateSource HR is partnering with a top-tier company within the Mining Industry to find a Mine Superintendent to join their Michigan team. Our partner is seeking and action-oriented individual that ensure that safety and MHSA regulations are met while driving performance and productions expectations.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Provide quality safety leadership for the mine site and ensure the safety of employees, contractors, vendors, and visitors.
- Ensure and maintain mine compliance with MSHA and all other safety regulations, policies, and procedures that are established.
- Maintain all regulatory permits and standards while ensuring the highest level of Environmental compliance.
- Conduct examinations field conditions, troubleshoot problems, and implement cost saving measures without sacrificing production or safety standards.
- Conduct team performance reviews and implement strategies to drive production and exceed standards.
- Oversee mining activities for production of 2,000 tonnes per day long hole stope and cut and fill operation.
- Accept personal responsibility for HSEC site procedures
- Identify and eliminate hazards, unsafe actions, and conditions that could result in damage to property, injury, impacts to the environment, and the community
- Comply with any instruction issued to protect their own personal health and safety, and the health and safety of others, protection of the environment and the community.
- Identify, report, and resolve any situations where HSEC requirements are not being conformed to within their work area
Requirements
- Bachelors of Science in Mining Engineering
- Minimum of 10 years of mining experience, preferably in an underground environment
- Minimum of 5 years in an operations or technical services leadership role
- Recent experience with surface plants and mobile equipment maintenance
- Professional Certification in the areas of: Supervision, Safety Training or Mine Rescue are highly preferred
