We are seeking an
experienced Mine Geologist with a background in open pit gold mining. The
successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of open pit production
activities, including grade control, data validation, liaising with
contractors, and monitoring mining activities. This role ensures that
short-term planning targets are met while maintaining the highest safety
standards.
Key Accountabilities:
- Adhere to all safety procedures, identify
hazards, report incidents, and work safely at all times.
- Design grade control drilling programs for short
and medium-term planning requirements.
- Schedule and coordinate grade control drilling
activities, ensuring high safety standards and sample QAQC.
- Conduct geological mapping and interpretation.
- Validate and analyze QAQC data related to
drilling, sampling, and assaying.
- Produce high-quality grade control models using
conditional simulation techniques.
- Contribute to short and medium-term mining
schedules and coordinate material movement and crusher feed.
- Assist in stockpile management, mine-to-mill
operations, and resource reconciliations.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement
and test solutions constructively.
- Maintain a high degree of organizational and
administrative skills.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Requirements
- BSc in Geology or higher-level qualifications.
- Prior experience in open pit mine geology.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and
teamwork.
- Strong grasp of mining geology, including gold
sampling and assaying, geological interpretation, grade modelling, and
open pit mining methods.
- Proficiency in estimation software or equivalent
software.
- Fluent in English
