To support its growth, we are looking for a Managing Director to direct all activities for the management and communication in manufacturing.
General Description:
The Managing Director will oversee contemporary food processing operations based in South America. The role involves providing leadership to foster business growth and ensuring profitability through the implementation of strategic plans driven by collaborative efforts, detailed analysis, and innovative thinking. This includes crafting comprehensive business plans with annual and long-term goals, budgets, and key performance indicators.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Developing and executing strategic business plans.
- Guiding senior management in achieving short and long-term plans.
- Providing insight into new product development and strategic commercial decisions.
- Promoting and supporting the implementation of new business projects and capital expenditures.
- Ensuring efficiency, control, and optimization in production and distribution.
- Managing and nurturing the management team for further professional development, including succession planning.
- Reviewing and approving budget allocations.
- Overseeing cost control and margin optimization.
- Monitoring management reports and financial projections.
- Encouraging a culture of continuous improvement and open communication.
- Engaging with corporate management and government officials as needed.
- Monitoring inventory levels to avoid production delays while optimizing costs.
- Upholding internal controls across all business aspects, including inventory management and financial controls.
- Cultivating relationships with key customers through regular visits.
- Implementing objective-based personnel performance reviews.
- Addressing legal and compliance matters proactively with retained counsel.
- Understanding and managing employee relations, including negotiations and recruitment.
- Providing guidance and support on Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business or Finance or related field.
- Over 10 years of management experience in industrial operations or food manufacturing.
- Understanding of agricultural commodities markets.
- Experience in managing operations in developing countries and CARICOM or similar environments.
- Experience in combating theft and fraud in an industrial setting.
