A global leader in mineral processing technology and services is seeking a Head of Process to lead its process engineering, metallurgy, and laboratory capability across North America.
This role sits at the intersection of technical leadership, customer engagement, and capability development, overseeing both process engineering teams and laboratory operations. The successful candidate will shape the region’s technical direction, ensure high-quality delivery of metallurgical programs and studies, and help grow the organization’s technical presence in the North American market.
The Head of Process leads the process and metallurgy team, while working through a Laboratory Manager who oversees day-to-day lab operations. The focus of the role is leadership, technical oversight, and building a high-performing function rather than executing routine test work.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the process engineering
and metallurgy team delivering test work programs, studies, and
technical services. - Provide leadership to the Laboratory
Manager, ensuring safe, efficient, and disciplined laboratory
operations. - Act as a senior technical
interface with customers, supporting early-stage project discussions
and technical reviews. - Oversee preparation and
approval of technical and commercial proposals for metallurgical
programs and engineering services. - Ensure high-quality
technical delivery, schedule performance, and strong customer outcomes. - Identify opportunities to expand
technical capability, grow services, and strengthen the regional offering. - Recruit, mentor, and develop engineers
and metallurgists as the business grows.
Requirements

processing and metallurgical services.
Essential
- Degree in Metallurgical
Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mineral Processing, or related field - Significant experience in metallurgical
test work, process engineering, or mineral processing services - Experience leading
engineers, metallurgists, or laboratory teams - Strong understanding of how test
work feeds process design and engineering studies - Experience in customer-facing
technical roles
Desirable
- Background with a process
engineering firm, OEM, metallurgical laboratory, or mineral processing
services company - Experience with flotation,
hydrometallurgy, or pilot-scale programs - Exposure to flowsheet
development and study-stage engineering - Experience across sectors such
as mineral sands, iron ore, industrial minerals, or critical minerals
