Daily Responsibilities:
- Maintain Ground Control Management on site and provide updates as needed to Crown Pillar Management Plans.
- Conduct inspections of underground excavations and provide recommendations to mitigate and eliminate any ground issues.
- Continuously lead and guide planners with geotechnical recommendations as well as on: stope sizing, offset distances, mine sequencing
- Create and analyze stress models to inform ground support design, re-entry protocols, mine sequencing, and mine design
- Performing quality control of ground support to ensure that all plans are in line with Ground Control Management Plans.
- Ensure geotechnical instrumentation systems and associated Trigger Action Response Plans meet adequate Education, Qualifications, and Experience.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years in Direct Mining experience.
- Bachelors in one of the following areas: Geological Engineering, Mining Engineering, or similar field
- Expert level understanding of the duties and responsibilities carried out by the geotechnical, geological, and mining engineering departments.
- Comprehensive knowledge of rock mechanics and underground support systems
- Expert knowledge of underground mine design and planning.
- Proficiency in the following computer systems: Microsoft Office, Map3D, Deswik, RocScience, and Leapfrog.
- PE License is a PLUS
