Key Responsibilities

Ground Control Management:
- Oversee and maintain Ground Control Management systems on-site, updating as necessary for Crown Pillar Management Plans.
- Conduct inspections of underground excavations, providing recommendations to mitigate ground stability issues.
- Lead and collaborate with planners to provide geotechnical recommendations regarding stope sizing, offset distances, and mine sequencing.

Geotechnical Design & Analysis:
- Create and analyze stress models to support ground support design, mine re-entry protocols, and overall mine design.
- Perform quality control on ground support systems, ensuring compliance with Ground Control Management Plans.

Instrumentation & Monitoring:
- Ensure that geotechnical instrumentation systems and Trigger Action Response Plans (TARPs) meet all required education, qualifications, and experience standards.
Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geological Engineering, Mining Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of direct mining experience, with a focus on geotechnical engineering and ground control management.
- Expert-level understanding of geotechnical, geological, and mining engineering principles.
- Extensive knowledge of rock mechanics, underground support systems, and mine design.
Skills & Expertise:
- Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Microsoft Office, Map3D, Deswik, RocScience, and Leapfrog.
- A deep understanding of underground mine design, planning, and geotechnical considerations.
Licensure:
- PE License (Professional Engineer) is preferred, but not required.
