The Geologist is responsible for the evaluation and definition of mineral resources contained within historical tailings deposits. The role focuses on geological interpretation, resource estimation, and supporting technical studies to assess the economic potential of tailings retreatment projects.
Key Responsibilities

Plan and manage drilling and sampling programs for the evaluation of historical tailings deposits.

Develop and maintain geological and grade models for tailings resources using industry-standard software.

Conduct resource estimation and assessment of recoverable grades.

Perform variability analysis and mineralogical studies to better understand tailings characteristics.

Support metallurgical test work and recovery analysis in collaboration with metallurgical teams.

Prepare or contribute to resource estimates and technical reports compliant with NI 43-101, or other relevant reporting standards.

Collaborate closely with metallurgical, processing, and project development teams to support technical evaluations.
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Geology or a related discipline.

8+ years of experience in resource estimation and geological modeling.

Experience with tailings deposits or low-grade gold resources is preferred.

Proficiency in resource modeling software such as Datamine, Surpac, Leapfrog, or similar platforms.

Strong analytical, technical reporting, and collaboration skills.
