Job Description

GateSource HR Mining Recruitment is seeking an experienced and dynamic bilingual SP/ENG General Manager to lead operations at a mine located in Peru. As the General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and fostering a culture of safety, teamwork, and productivity.
The incumbent will be required to relocate to Peru.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operational Leadership: Provide strategic direction and oversee day-to-day operations of the mine, including production, maintenance, safety, and quality control.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Oversight: Ensure adherence to all local, national, and international mining regulations, as well as environmental and safety standards.
  • Financial Management: Manage budgets, monitor costs, and implement cost-effective strategies to optimize production while maintaining profitability.
  • Team Management: Recruit, train, and lead a high-performing team, fostering a positive work environment that encourages growth, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Health and Safety: Implement and uphold rigorous safety protocols to safeguard employees, contractors, and the environment.
  • Stakeholder Relations: Cultivate positive relationships with local communities, government agencies, and relevant stakeholders, maintaining open communication and addressing concerns in a timely and effective manner.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization, efficiency gains, and technology adoption to enhance overall productivity and sustainability.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in a leadership role within the mining industry, with a proven track record of successful mine management.
  • Strong understanding of mining operations, including extraction, processing, and logistics.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant mining regulations, environmental compliance, and safety protocols.
  • Demonstrated financial acumen, with the ability to manage budgets, analyze costs, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Spanish and English (both written and spoken) is essential.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a results-oriented mindset.
