GateSource HR Caribbean Division is collaborating with a strategic client to recruit a buyer Conduct procurement activities to ensure efficient and effective operations across the station. The Buyer will oversee the sourcing, purchasing, and management of food ingredients, packaging materials, and other supplies and services essential for our production processes.. (This job is located Full time in Sint Marteen, and applicant must have a Dutch passport)
- Partner closely with Chefs, Category Managers, Finance Representatives, and other executives to drive the group’s procurement strategy forward.
- Oversee the Request for Proposal (RFP) and Request for Quote (RFQ) processes, including preparing bid analyses and price comparisons as necessary.
- Generate purchase requisitions and process purchase orders (POs) for equipment and supplies, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Manage logistics and monitor import/export operations for efficient and timely coordination.
- Verify vendor compliance with the organization’s standards and the import requirements specific to each country.
- Ensure vendors meet agreed-upon pricing, payment terms, and other contractual conditions.
- Maintain and uphold station processes to ensure alignment with the Procurement Policy and the guidelines within the Financial Policy Manual.
- Review and manage supply contracts on behalf of the organization, ensuring alignment with contract specifications.
- Maintain open communication with vendors to confirm timely and intact delivery of products.
- Lead monthly inventory counts to ensure adherence to Corporate protocols.
- Utilize technology to monitor shipment status, inventory levels, and material supplies effectively.
- Provide support for the SAP implementation project.
- Collaborate with Accounts Payable to facilitate accurate and timely invoice payments.
- Drive initiatives to improve procurement efficiency and enhance organizational procurement capabilities, including:
Preparing daily, weekly, and monthly procurement reports as required.
Promoting adherence to safety, health, and environmental standards.
Building strong, collaborative relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Procurement and Logistics or a related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or a closely related discipline.
- Solid understanding of contracts, invoicing, and negotiation.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
- Import/export experience in the Caribbean is a plus.
- Proficient in general business software, with advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience with SAP is advantageous.
- Strong problem-solving skills and an analytical mindset.
- Excellent organizational and time-management capabilities.
- Fluency in English, both spoken and written (Spanish proficiency is a plus).
