Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Mobile Heavy Equipment Asset Manager to oversee the management and maintenance of our mobile heavy equipment fleet for a mining project in Alaska. The successful candidate will ensure that all equipment is maintained, repaired, and operated to the highest standards, optimizing operational efficiency and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive asset management strategies and programs for the mobile heavy equipment fleet.
  • Oversee the maintenance, repair, and servicing of all mobile heavy equipment, ensuring maximum availability and reliability.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Manage the procurement and disposal of mobile heavy equipment, ensuring cost-effective solutions that meet operational needs.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure equipment performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to optimize equipment usage and performance.
  • Provide training and support to equipment operators and maintenance personnel, promoting best practices and safety standards.
  • Prepare and manage budgets for equipment maintenance and capital expenditures.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance, and repair activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience managing mobile heavy equipment in the mining or heavy industrial sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of heavy equipment maintenance, repair, and asset management practices.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement effective asset management strategies.
  • Proficiency in using asset management software and tools.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations related to equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote and challenging environment.
