This position is responsible for supporting the organization’s compliance with both internal and external quality and food safety standards. The Quality Officer plays a key role in conducting training, performing audits, running product evaluations, and collecting relevant data to ensure processes and outputs align with defined specifications. This role also helps drive continuous improvement across departments by encouraging adherence to quality protocols.

Perform routine quality testing such as chlorine levels, quaternary compound checks, temperature measurements, and sensory evaluations to ensure products meet established benchmarks.

Monitor, document, and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Critical Control Points (CCPs), Control Points (CPs), and other HACCP-related requirements across all relevant areas.

Gather and analyze microbiological samples from food, water, ice, and environmental surfaces, ensuring prompt corrective actions are taken in the event of non-compliance.

Participate in and contribute to inspections and audits involving departments, suppliers, and subcontractors, and ensure the follow-up of corrective actions based on findings.

Assist in developing, updating, and maintaining the site-specific HACCP plan, ensuring adherence to SOPs and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs).

Track and follow up on outstanding audit findings across departments to ensure timely closure.

Alert the HACCP Manager to any deviations or out-of-specification results as soon as they are identified.

Periodically review product, service, and process performance in line with established Quality and Food Safety objectives.

Provide support for departmental projects and quality initiatives as assigned.
Additional Involvement:

Contribute to internal HSSE (Health, Safety, Security, and Environment) committees and initiatives.

Be an active member of the HACCP Committee.

Participate in Employee Engagement Committees as needed.
Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or a related discipline; or

Certification in Quality (e.g., CQE) or Food Safety standards

Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a similar role within a food manufacturing or processing environment

Solid understanding of HACCP systems and manufacturing quality assurance processes

Experience within the food industry is considered an asset

Competency in Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Physical & Travel Requirements: -
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods; short breaks for sitting are recommended
